PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY. (“Controls Journal,” “we,” or “us”) offers an online news, articles, jobs board, companies directory, event listing, and discussion groups open platform known as “Service” through its website located at or (collectively, the “Controls Journal Site” or “Controls Journal”). By joining as a member or by using the Controls journal Service in any way, you accept these Terms of Use (“Agreement”), which forms a binding agreement between you and Controls Journal.

We reserve the right to amend this Agreement at any time and without notice. If we do this, we will post the amended Agreement on this page and indicate at the top of the page the date the Agreement was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use. If you do not agree to any of these terms or any future Terms of Use, do not use or access (or continue to access) the Service. This Agreement applies to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service (“Users”).

1.    Use of our service

Controls Journal provides a place for you to share your news, press releases, insights, company information, company technology, information about your product(s), and give personal or group in-depth opinions about anything related to building controls, automation industry, renewables, security, life safety systems, and energy management.

To Use Our Services, you must be at least 13 years old, may need to register with us to access and use some of our services.

Must not initiate or participate in any activities on our services that are illegal, harmful, or interfere with anyone’s use of our services, including the sending of e-mail spam.

You do not have to register in order to visit However to access certain features of the Service, though, including submitting company information, posting press releases or articles, submitting job listings, adding events, creating community groups, new queries, new topics, creating community groups, and commenting or answering on other members’ articles or questions, you will need to join Controls Journal site by creating a “User” account. Your account gives you access to the services and functionalities that we may establish and maintain from time to time and in our sole discretion. You may never use another User’s account without permission. When creating your account, you must provide accurate and complete information considering this a platform for professionals who work in the domain(s) it covers. You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs on your account, and you must keep your account password secure. You must notify Controls Journal immediately of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account. Although Controls Journal will not be liable for your losses caused by any unauthorized use of your account, you shall be liable for the losses of Controls Journal or others due to such unauthorized use. You may change the settings on your “My Profile” page to control your User Profile and how other users or visitors connect with you. By providing Controls Journal your email address you consent to our using the email address to send you Service-related notices. We may also use your email address to send you other messages, including changes to features of the Service and special offers. If you do not want to receive email messages, you may opt out by sending us an email to opt [at] controlsjournal [dot] com. Opting out will prevent you from receiving email messages regarding updates, improvements, or offers, however you will still receive emails of your own activities until you fully delete your account. Since the Service provided is free for all, you agree that Controls Journal will not be liable to you for any interruption of the Service, delay or failure to perform.

2.    License to use the Controls Journal Service

By posting any User Content on the Service, you expressly grant, and you represent and warrant that you have a right to grant, to Controls Journal a royalty-free, sub-licensable, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, list information regarding, edit, distribute, publicly display, translate, and make derivative works of all such User Content and your name, and/or likeness as contained in your User Content, in whole or in part, and in any form, media or technology, whether now known or hereafter developed, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing for any purpose at the sole discretion of Controls Journal. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, you are hereby granted a non-exclusive, limited, personal license to use the Service. Controls Journal reserves all rights not expressly granted herein in the Service and the Controls Journal Content. Controls Journal may terminate this license at any time for any reason or no reason.

3.    Privacy

We care about the privacy of our Users. Click here to view our Privacy Policy which forms a part of this Agreement. Please review the Privacy Policy to learn about: (a) Information we may collect about you, (b) what we use that information for, (c) with whom we share that information, (d) data security, and (e) cookies.

4.    Membership

REGISTRATION: To use the Controls Journal Service, you must join as a member by providing a user name, password, a valid email address and other information. You must provide complete and accurate registration information to Controls Journal and we recommend you update if your information changes. If you represent a business or any other entity (non-profit), the person whose email address is associated with the account must have the authority to bind the entity to this Agreement.

USER NAME AND FAMILY: We encourage you to use your real name. If you are a business, or any other entity (non-profit), you can use the actual name of your organization. You may not use someone else’s name, a name that violates any third party right, or a name that is obscene or otherwise objectionable.

ACCOUNT SECURITY: You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any activity by unauthorized users. You must not allow others to use your account. You must safeguard the confidentiality of your password. If you become aware of an unauthorized access to your account, you must change your password and notify us immediately for any unauthorized actions via email to users at controlsjournal dot com.

5.    Term and Termination

TERM: This Agreement begins on the date you first use the Controls Journal Service and continues as long as you have an account with us.

ACCOUNT DELETION: You may delete your account at any time by dropping us an email to users at controlsjournal dot com.

TERMINATION FOR BREACH: We may suspend, disable, or delete your account (or any part thereof) or block or remove any content you submitted if we determine that you have violated any provision of this Agreement or that your conduct or content would tend to damage Controls Journal’s reputation and goodwill.

ACCOUNT DELETION: In the event of account deletion for any reason, content that you submitted may no longer be available. Controls Journal shall not be responsible for the loss of such content.

6.    Content Restrictions

Where it is authorized for the User to publish or post content without our initial review on any submitted content then you may not upload, post, or transmit (collectively, “submit”) any text, image, audio recording, video, or other work (collectively, “content”) that:

  • Infringes any third party’s copyrights or other rights (e.g., trademark, privacy rights, etc.); unless the author represents the entity explained under membership terms (Section 4).
  • Contains sexually explicit content or pornography.
  • Contains hateful, defamatory, or discriminatory content or incites hatred against any individual or group.
  • Promotes fraudulent or dubious business schemes.
  • Violates any law.

Some type of posts require our approval to be published after our initial review, we have the right to reject publishing any content submitted by you that violates the terms set above.

All data you submit must also comply with  Controls Journal Guidelines, which are incorporated into this Agreement.

7.    Your Warranties

For each piece of content that you submit, you represent and warrant that:

  • You have the right to submit the content to Controls Journal and grant the licenses set forth above.
  • Controls Journal will not need to obtain licenses from any third party or pay royalties to any third party.
  • The content does not infringe any third party’s rights, including intellectual property rights and privacy rights.
  • The content complies with this Agreement and all applicable laws.

8.    Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Controls Journal, its affiliates and their respective representatives from and against all losses, expenses, damages and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from (a) your use of and access to the Service, including any data or content transmitted or received by you; (b) your violation of any term of this Agreement, including without limitation your breach of any of the representations and warranties above; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any right of privacy, publicity rights or Intellectual Property Rights; (d) your violation of any law, rule or regulation of any country; (e) any claim or damages that arise as a result of any of your User Content or any that are submitted via your account; or (f) any other party’s access and use of the Service with your unique username, password or other appropriate security code.

9.    Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Controls Journal (or its directors, employees, agents, partners or content providers) be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including but not limited to costs of procurement of products or services, loss of profits or revenue, or loss of data or use, incurred by you, whether in an action in contract or tort or otherwise, even if it has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Third Party Copyrights

Controls Journal respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that your copyright has been infringed and you have any sort of claims, please send us a notice to legal at controlsjournal dot com.

11. Disclaimers

a-    Controls Journal does not promise or makes any guarantee about the availability of the Content and Services on the Sites or that the Content and Services on the Sites will be error-free or uninterrupted, free of viruses or malware, or that any defects will be corrected or that your use of the Sites and Services will provide specific results that meet your needs.

b-    Controls Journal reserves the right to remove, edit, modify or otherwise manipulate any Content and to remove or block any Content from the Services without notice to you for any reason or for no reason at all.

12. General Terms

Waiver: No term or provision of these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed waived and no breach excused, unless such waiver or consent shall be in writing and signed by the party claimed to have waived or consented. Any consent by any party to, or waiver of, a breach by the other party, whether express or implied, shall not constitute a consent to, waiver of, or excuse for any different or subsequent breach.

NOTICES: You consent to receive all communications including notices, agreements, disclosures, or other information from us electronically. We may provide all such communications by email or by posting them on Controls Journal site. For support-related inquiries, you may contact us.

Nothing herein shall limit our right to object to claims, or other demands.

13. Jobs Section Terms

Controls Journal site is also a platform for Recruiters and Employers to post job opportunities and Candidates to upload and submit resumes.

Controls Journal does not screen or censor job listings. As a result, we have no control over the quality, legality or safety of the jobs posted or resumes uploaded, the truth or accuracy of the listings, the ability of Recruiters or Employers to offer job opportunities to candidates or the ability of candidates to fill job openings.

a-    Risks:

There may be risks using jobs section, including but not limited to risk of physical harm of dealing with strangers, foreign nationals, or people acting under false claims. You assume all risks associated with dealing with other users with whom you come in contact through the Site.

b- Authentication:

User authentication on the Internet is difficult, Controls Journal cannot and does not confirm that each user is who they claim to be. Because we do not and cannot be involved in user-to-user dealings or control the behavior of all users on this Site, in the event that you have a dispute with one or more users, you release “Us” from all claims, demands and damages of every kind and nature, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes.

c- General terms:

We are under no legal obligation to, and generally do not, control the information provided by our Users which is made available through our site. By its very nature, other Users information may be offensive, harmful or inaccurate, and in some cases will be miss-labelled or deceptively labelled. We do not guarantee, and makes no representations or warranties as to the truthfulness, accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the Content or about the results to be obtained using the Content. The use of the Site and the Content uploaded is at your own risk.

Controls journal may monitor the documents uploaded at random. Documents found to violate our posting guidelines may be removed at our discretion. If you feel there is a violation made by any document, please contact us with details, and we will look into the matter.

As a User applicant, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for the form, content and accuracy of any resume, or other information placed by you, as applicable on the Site.

Controls Journal shall not be responsible for any employment decisions, for whatever reason made, by any entity posting jobs on our site (

ENTIRE AGREEMENT: This Agreement incorporates Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines.

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between us and you concerning the subject matter hereof.
